About Terina

Terina K. Lopez, M.S., LMHC has been in private practice in Coral Gables since 2014. Her clinical work centers on eating disorders: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, orthorexia, and compulsive overexercise. She also treats anxiety, depression, grief, and OCD. She works with adolescents and adults, and her practice is built around long-term treatment relationships.

Her psychoanalytic formation is ongoing. She completed the Florida Psychoanalytic Center's two-year Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Course. In 2021 she completed the Steven Mitchell Program in Relational Theory in Clinical Practice in New York. She is a member of the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute.

Before private practice, Terina spent eight years at Oliver Pyatt Centers, one of the country's leading eating disorder treatment programs, progressing from clinical intern to IOP Primary Therapist to Transitional Living Program Manager to Florida Outreach Manager. She holds an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University and a B.S. from the University of Florida, where she graduated Cum Laude.

From 2014 to 2019, she served as Chapter President of the Miami chapter of the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals. From 2018 to 2021, she was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami, teaching Therapeutic Group Procedures at the graduate level. She conducts sessions in English and Spanish.
